This December 2 there will be a vote on the reforms to Venezuela's constitution. Seminarians from the country have written a letter to the Venezuelan Bishops' conference expressing their support for the Church in opposition to the "morally unacceptable" revisions that are "irreconcilable with the Christian Faith and its view of man and society". Additionally, they expressed concern that that human rights would be infringed upon. They go onto cite Pope Benedict from his encyclical, Deus Caritas Est, on government and its role with respect to human freedom.
